Challenges

The client was in the early stages of building a structured sales function and needed a reliable partner to establish and launch Salesforce Sales Cloud. Previously, sales data was scattered across spreadsheets, making it nearly impossible to maintain consistent lead tracking or team-wide visibility. Without a CRM, reps had no standard way to manage accounts or opportunities, and leadership lacked insights to drive performance.

On top of that, the team wanted to enhance prospecting capabilities with enriched data and automated outreach—something their manual tools couldn’t support. A modern CRM with smart integrations would be key to creating a repeatable, scalable sales process.


Solution

Ascend Technologies implemented a Salesforce Sales Cloud instance, tailored to meet the startup needs of the sales team while laying a strong foundation for future growth. Core objects—including Leads, Accounts, Contacts, and Opportunities—were configured to reflect the company’s unique sales workflows.

To improve targeting and outreach, Ascend integrated Apollo.io with Salesforce, enabling seamless syncing and enrichment of lead data. Custom dashboards and reports were created for three distinct user roles, providing clear visibility into performance metrics and sales activity. Permission sets and profiles ensured that users had the right access, aligning with role-specific security requirements.


Outcome

The client now operates with a single source of truth for all customer and lead information. With a structured CRM in place, the sales team has dramatically improved visibility into the pipeline, while automated data enrichment through Apollo.io has made prospecting smarter and more efficient.

Workflows are now standardized, reporting is real-time, and the sales process is set up to scale with the company’s continued growth. Freed from manual processes and disconnected tools, the team is focused on what they do best—building relationships and closing deals.
