SCAM ALERT – Hackers are sending emails, falsely claiming your Netflix account has been suspended. These emails look just like the real thing. They are trying to get your login information and your credit card data.

Don’t fall for this type of scam. If you want to change the settings of subscription services like this, never click on links in any email. Type the url of the site in your browser directly.

This recently detected scam targets nearly 110 million Netflix subscribers. Users are directed to a fake site including Netflix’s logo as well as popular Netflix shows like “The Crown” and “House of Cards” to make it seem legitimate.

Follow these tips to stay safe:

  • Type the address of the website you wish to visit directly into your browser, instead of clicking on a link in an email.
  • Be cautious of emails that you were not expecting.
  • Hover over a link before you click it to see where it leads.
  • THINK before you CLICK on any link, especially one that seems out of place.
