The Salesforce Summer '26 Release Notes are officially here, and this one's worth more than a quick scroll. Spanning AI transparency, developer quality-of-life improvements, compliance automation, and smarter field tools, this release reflects real progress on the things teams have been asking for.
We're sharing the five updates we think will actually change how your day looks, but we'd encourage you to dig into the full list yourself...you might find a few new favorites.
1. Agentforce: Provide Source References in BYOC Outbound Messages
What's New: Messaging end users can now verify Agentforce Service Agent's answers against knowledge articles or other sources directly within your custom UI. This feature is available in June 2026. This change impacts partners who create messaging integrations for Bring Your Own Channel (BYOC).
The Benefit: Build trust in AI-generated responses by providing source references in Bring Your Own Channel outbound messages.

2. Data 360: Connect REST API Rate Limit Changes
What's New: Orgs have been migrated to the per org, per 24-hour Salesforce Platform API rate limit. Only requests that require Chatter are subject to the per user, per application, per hour rate limit.
The Benefit: Avoids potentially restrictive per user, per application, per hour Connect REST API rate limits.

3. Development: Multiline String Templates in Apex
What's New: When constructing large blocks of text inside Apex — such as JSON objects for REST payloads — it has always been necessary to concatenate each line or use \n on a single line. Now, using the ''' token, it is possible to construct strings over multiple lines and close out with another '''. This is similar to defining a multiline comment with /* and */.
The Benefit: Previously, the best practice was to create a public class representing the JSON object and serialize it to generate the payload — but properties of the class are bound by Apex naming rules, making it impossible to name an element after a reserved word like "currency." Multiline string templates eliminate these workarounds, making complex text blocks and REST payloads cleaner, easier to read, and far less error-prone.

4. Industries: Process Compliance Navigator
What's New: Extract and create regulation and policy clause records in Process Compliance Navigator with generative AI. Upload a PDF to extract key information and descriptions, while skipping irrelevant sections such as definitions and FAQs. Compliance officers review extracted data before finalizing clause versions, so you can accelerate the digitization of legacy documents and the deployment of updated operational guardrails.
The Benefit: Reduce the time and effort required to document compliance information. Manual extraction of compliance clauses from lengthy regulatory PDFs is error-prone and slows down your team's ability to respond to new or updated requirements.

5. Sales: Get Transcripts and ECI Features for In-Person Meetings
What's New: Sales teams can capture in-person meetings on a mobile device and get them processed by Einstein Conversation Insights (ECI). With the Salesforce mobile app, users can easily capture meeting details. From your home page or a meeting detail page, launch the In-Person Meeting Assistant and start the transcription. This feature is available in Starter, Pro, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Agentforce 1 Sales editions.
The Benefit: Avoid manual data entry and focus on your client with secure, confidential mobile AI transcription.
